A container space calculator can compare declared cargo volume with a rectangular internal envelope, but the balance is not a physical loading result. Enter the assigned container’s internal length, width and height, occupied cargo CBM and deliberate reserve for clearance, dunnage and bracing. Why is nominal container CBM not usable CBM?

Rectangular dimensions ignore door access, package geometry, clearance, dunnage, non-stackability and safe loading work.

Can I divide container CBM by carton CBM?

Only as a rough volume ratio. Whole-unit floor division and physical constraints can produce a much lower count.

Should dunnage be entered as reserved volume?

Yes for transparent planning, but the qualified load plan should define the actual material, location and securing purpose.

What if remaining space is negative?

The declared volumes exceed the rectangular envelope. Recheck units and packing, then evaluate different equipment or quantities.
